PIXEL: AIGA Student Group at UC Davis
PIXEL is the AIGA (American institute for Graphic Arts) student group at UC Davis. PIXEL holds meetings for the design department, ranging from professional development workshops like portfolio and resume building workshops, to Q&As with professors and design studio tours. We also have several social events every quarter where students get to de-stress with fun design sprints or color matching games. As the president, I have been able to teach students subjects like Adobe After Effects, networking, and even book-binding!
PIXEL also has a mentorship program where we pair freshman and sophomore students with more experienced junior and senior students, giving them an opportunity to foster collaborations between students who would otherwise not know each other through classes.
